Manchester United will have to fork out a staggering fee in compensation if they plan to sack Ruben Amorim in the middle of the season. The Red Devils are off to a nightmare start in the 2025-26 campaign and it only got worse after their humiliating derby loss against Manchester City last Sunday. The Red Devils currently find themselves 14th in the Premier League after four games.

    According to the , Amorim has only three matches to save his job, starting with the Chelsea clash on Saturday, after which United might consider parting ways with him. Following their Premier League encounter against the Blues, the Red Devils will travel to Brentford next before hosting Sunderland. These three fixtures will lead up to the international break next month and if the team's performance does not improve drastically then United might consider sacking the Portuguese coach.

    reports that United will have to pay a whopping £12million ($16m) in compensation to Amorim if the club terminates his contract before the completion of at least one year of his contract. Amorim took charge of the team, replacing Erik ten Hag in November 2024.

    What next for Amorim?

    For now, Amorim remains focused on getting his team back to winning ways. With no European football during the midweek, the Red Devils got enough time to recover from the setback in the derby and will now aim to register full points against Enzo Maresca's side at home on Saturday.
